"Kakishibu Dyeing" is a process of dying threads, fabrics, and products with the fermented and matured juice of astringent persimmon
The persimmon tannin containes many effects such as antibacterial, deodorizing, and deodorizing. Therefore "Kakishibu Dyeing" has long been used for a wide variety of products, including cloth, lacquerware, paper, fishing nets, rope, furniture, building materials, and rain gear.
This tecnique has been handed down in Japan for more than 1,000 years.
Kakishibu Dyed product changes its color slowly with time and sun exposure. The more you wear the more they become yours. Please enjoy the transition.
Additionally, persimmon tannin reacts to iron and turn black which is called "Tetsu-baisen"(iron-mordant dyeing). We also use this process to achieve grayish hue.
All the materials used in the process are made from natural persimmons, not chemical dyes.

青柿の果汁を3年以上寝かせて発酵した液体です。柿タンニンが豊富に含まれていて古くから庶民の生活の中で日常的に用いられてきました。天然素材でありながら抗菌・消臭効果があり、防腐・防虫の効果にも優れていると言われています。
柿渋染めと柿渋染めを鉄媒染したものを組み合わせて作りました。
柿渋染めしたのち鉄媒染することにより、グレーがかった色合いになります。
綿100%の古い手ぬぐい生地を使用し、他にはない
一点物の「サロペット」を作りました。
∞手染めの為、作品により色むらがございます。
